So let me set the scene.  I'm walking Lulu down a quiet street in my hood.  The sun has just set.  The dim light of the day is all that remains and I happen upon this jewel of jewels.  Caesalpinia pulcherrima also known as Dwarf Poinciana or Pride of Barbados or even Red Bird of Paradise.  The flowers stopped me dead in my tracks.  So vibrantly beautiful.  It was too much.  I almost had to slap myself to see if what I was seeing was really real.  This gorgeous deciduous shrub; evergreen in mild winters comes to us from the tropical americas.  It has the most delicate looking fern-like leaves and then at the end of each stem is a floral solar flare.  Breathtaking!
