This Australian Fern has become one of my favorites over the years. Called the 'Kangaroo Paw Fern' because the long leaves are supposedly reminiscent of a long Kangaroo foot. Leaves can get 1 foot long and plants sprawl outward 2 - 3 feet. One interesting thing noted about this fern is that on occasion, when moistened, its foliage or wondering rhizome stems, not sure which, can give off a slight Sandalwood-like fragrance that is quite woodsy and fresh. It's a beautiful surprise.
Origin: Australia/Tasmania/New Zealand Light: Bright/Indirect/Shade Water: Water thoroughly 1-2 times a week. Mist: I tend to mist, from time to time, the creeping rhizome stems that produce new leaves. Soil: 1/2 Well-Draining Potting Mix and 1/2 Sphagnum/Peat Moss Well Mixed.
