|Acacia covenyi + Agave tequilana|There I was just minding my own business and shazam! Ah yes, here we have Acacia covenyi also referred to as the Blue Bush. Coming to us live and in concert all the way from Australia and performing beautifully here in SoCal. When I came across this planting I just couldn't help myself. The paparazzi in me came out in full force. Loving me some Acacia covenyi! I've seen these in Australia as a full grown evergreen shrub or small tree. This architecturally amazing plant can grow anywhere from 15 feet tall, up to 15 feet wide, if you let them, and best of all they keep a blue grey sheen about them plus they become drought tolerant when established. Sort of reminds me of a Dr. Seuss kind of thing. The thing I love in this instance is that someone, a tree whisperer perhaps, is pruning this one in sort of a bonsai fashion.
I really dig the contrast of the blue-grey with the wall color. It has a colorful casual vibe about it. The mixture with an under planting of icy blue architectural Agave tequilana is so ice cold its hot! Very cool.
