A Stylish Solar Supernova

And now for something different...how about a pincushion-like flower form from which rich yellow pin-like flowers radiate.  It's like a solar supernova.  I first saw these flowers in Australia a few years ago.  The plant is called Isopogon anethifolius also commonly known as drumstick or conebush.  They grow on shrubs that can grow up to 8 feet tall and 5 feet wide but the cool thing is that you can prune them when they're young to keep them small, bushy, and producing lots of these cool flowers.  These celestial pincushions of coolness make for out-of-this-world cut flowers.  I've also seen them worn as a stylishly unique boutonnière.  As far as flowers go they are deliciously different.
