True blue flowers are sometimes about as rare as a blue moon. Plumbago auricular or Cape Plumbago comes to us from South Africa. It produces the most captivating clusters of flowers. Plumbago auricular is a mounding shrub. In warmer climates it is evergreen. In cooler it is semi-evergreen. It creates a fount of thick green growth and when it flowers en masse it is a sight to be seen. I was walking by one today covered in copious clusters of flowers and could not escape its allure. It's like a sky blue blaze of beautifulness! You feel so crisp and clean when you're surrounded by it. This would make such an amazing screening shrub to freshen up a drab fence that might look upon something horrible. Horrible is deplorable so why not make it blaze in the brightness of blue.
